“Extending this trajectory of institutional growth is none other than Dib Bangkok—a lifelong dream of the late collector Petch Osathanugrah. Best known to the Thai public as a singer-songwriter (his “I’m Just a Man, Not a Wizard” was a 1987 megahit), Petch was also a businessman (his family spearheads the Osotspa consumer goods conglomerate and Bangkok University, among other entities). He began collecting in the late ’80s and for the past thirty years had been planning to build a private museum to share his art collection with the public—up until his untimely death in 2023. Petch’s son Purat “Chang” Osathanugrah picked up his father’s torch and brought his dream to fruition with the 2025 inauguration of this new cultural landmark.”
